My only son was knocked down by a reckless driver on Wednesday evening, as he was coming out from his primary school gate to cross the main road. He sustained serious head, and possibly other organ injuries, with nose bleedings. He has been in coma and has been unconscious since then. He was first taken to All Saints Hospital at 33, Onitsha before I was informed by his school management. I went to that hospital, and upon seeing my son, I broke down. A brilliant, small boy of 9 years, comatose, unconscious, bloodstained, with periodic seizures, yet peaceful and very handsome, in between. I noticed his irregular breathings, and quickly called for an ambulance, equipped with oxygen, to take him from there to a better equipped, St Charles Borromeow Hospital, Onitsha.
